i'm sitting here with my hands on the keyboard not knowing where to start...
not that it's been an overly exciting week, or even a horrible week, just so much going on.
tuesday austyn left for girls camp, my nephew kelsey returned from serving a very honorable mission to chile. i've been able to spend some much wanted and needed time with ALL my children and grandchildren. i've even been able to see family members that i haven't seen for a while! we did lose a car...the van finally died on the way home from church on sunday - transmission. it's not worth fixing, so we are in the market for another vehicle (not by choice :(
i've been swimming, reading, actually had to cook something the other day (my chef, austyn, is gone remember?) eaten my share of neighborhood snowcones, read some more, spent some wonderful time with kelsey. what a great man he is. he has a wonderful spirit about him, and so non-judgemental. 'course kelsey never really has been judgemental, that's one of the many things i love about him. it's good to have him home, and contemplating the next few phases of his life.
we spent thursday at the humanitarian center, getting the tour and finding out how we can help there at the center and also from home. we got some great ideas, and plan on taking a few days out of our summer to visit again and help put kits together. we then toured the oquirrh
mountain temple (beautiful!) enjoyed some cookies and the spirit there. we are glad that ashlee and the little girls, britanee, brian and rian were able to join us there.
austyn returned from girls camp friday afternoon, joined us for a little swimming in the rain and family bar-b-que. we missed her! (and not just because she's the cook around here) she is a sweet young woman. linzi spent the week caring for a friends daughter, kati. they get along so well, and linzi takes wonderful care of her. yesterday we kept kati until almost 10 pm! sorry tami! she was having fun and we enjoyed having her.
so, it's saturday...i'm hoping this is a calmer day than the rest of the week has been. it's been rather crazy trying to get everywhere we need and want to be with just one car. especially with family in town. i'm sure we will manage. kelsey's homecoming is tomorrow, i'm sure the chapel will be packed with friends and family all anxious to hear from him. a feeding frenzy is planned for after church, where we will be able to enjoy more time together as a family. a nice ending to a busy week! much love to all!!
ps - the door has been put on hold until out of town family head back home. much too messy! i'll update you on that next week.....
